The production of our PM steels corresponds to the latest technological development. Our PM steels have a very fine, uniform and segregation-free microstructure and a homogeneous carbide distribution. They are characterized - in their various areas of application - by excellent wear resistance in conjunction with very good compressive strength, toughness and high-temperature strength.
Due to its alloy composition, a high carbide content and the synergy of various carbide types, the highest demands on abrasive wear resistance and toughness are combined. Compared to OB-PM-S79 the toughness of OB-PM-K49 is doubled with unchanged wear resistance at the same time. OB-PM-K49 can be nitrided and is suitable for a PVD coating.
Its well-balanced alloy composition combines wear resistance, toughness and corrosion resistance to optimum properties. The exceptional wear resistance is achieved by a high proportion of hard vanadium carbides, while the outstanding corrosion resistance is the result of a high chromium matrix. Due to its high purity, OB-PM-M39 is mirror polishable and almost dimensionally stable.
Our high speed steels, similar to PM 23 / PM 30 / PM 52, are very good nitridable. Due to their homogeneous microstructure they are also very well suited for PVD and CVD coating.
OB-PM-S39 and OB-PM-S59 have a very good wear and heat resistance as well as good compressive strength and toughness. OB-PM-S79 has a good wear resistance, high toughness and very good dimensional stability.
